51�Թ��� President Todd Diacon recently presented six 51�Թ��� faculty members with the 2020 President’s Faculty Excellence Award, which recognizes exceptional performance that leads to the achievement of national or international recognition in the faculty member’s discipline.

Senior Sydney Bihn finds her true calling throughout her time at 51�Թ��� and becomes the first female aerospace engineering graduate.

The 51�Թ��� alumni family will grow by nearly 5,300 new graduates as the university holds its spring commencement. 

Beginning Friday, May, visitors to the  will be able to view a variety of special videos, online exhibits and interactive tours, all designed to honor and remember Allison Krause, Jeffrey Miller, Sandra Scheuer and William Schroeder, the 51�Թ��� students who lost their lives 50 years ago on the 51�Թ��� campus.

51�Թ��� today announced that it will recognize the accomplishments of its Spring Class of 2020 with a virtual commencement recognition ceremony taking place on the originally scheduled commencement date.

In accordance with the order of Amy Acton, M.D., director of Ohio Department of Health, to stay at home to slow the spread of COVID-19, and in the interest of the health and safety of the community, 51�Թ��� regretfully announces cancellation of the May 4 50th Commemoration Weekend events, scheduled to take place May 1-4, 2020.

Dean Kahler, one of the nine 51�Թ��� students wounded in the May 4, 1970, shootings by the Ohio National Guard, will return to campus on Saturday, May 9, to serve as speaker for the One University Commencement. Thomas Grace, Ph.D., another of the nine wounded students, will serve as speaker for the Advanced Degree Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 8.

51�Թ��� field hockey coach Kyle DeSandes-Moyer has one mantra that not only fueled, but bonded, both her first successful season guiding the Golden Flashes and the team she inherited. “We have to honor the women who came before us,” she said.

51�Թ��� is proud to announce the May 4 50th Commemoration Benefit Concert featuring Joe Walsh (with Barnstorm – Joe Vitale and Kenny Passarelli) and David Crosby (with his touring band), two Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members with strong musical connections to the events of May 4, 1970.

51�Թ��� has opened the gates of opportunity for students in the I Promise Program by providing free tuition for four years as well as one year of free room and board.
