The Department of Justice’s accessibility mandate requiring all digital content on 51³Ô¹ÏÍø websites to meet compliance standards—originally due April 24, 2026—has been extended to April 2027. This includes web pages, PDFs, other digital files and much of the content to which we link on third-party websites.
Based on content reviewed to date, much of what we’ve encountered can be removed rather than remediated, reducing the overall digital footprint. At the same time, many PDFs and documents do require remediation, and additional files will continue to be identified through continued review and analysis. Both reducing unnecessary content and improving the accessibility of what remains contribute to a better user experience and stronger search performance.
While the deadline has been extended, we encourage you to continue your progress and not pause this work. Advancing these efforts now will help reduce future workload and support a more accessible, streamlined web presence.
