For most of her life, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø junior visual communication design major Jasmine McCulley, has built her identity around community, the arts and competition, whether through The Touch of Gold Twirlers or competitive baton twirling. Sixteen years after she first picked up a baton, she will represent Team USA this August in Paris at the IBTF World Competition.
In early April, a video of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Golden Flashes football team went viral when they cheered on the Golden Flashes softball team at a doubleheader against Bowling Green.
Originally from Vaughan, Ontario, Emma Klein made the transition to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø not only for academic excellence but also for personal growth and a collegiate sports experience. Now in her sophomore year, she is a part of the Honors College, a member of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Division I women’s soccer team, and is a member of Phi Delta Epsilon.
Homecoming 2026 is Oct. 3. Get ready to welcome alumni back to campus, celebrate 51³Ô¹ÏÍø traditions and cheer on the Golden Flashes as they take on the Ohio University Bobcats in the Homecoming football game.
51³Ô¹ÏÍø Vice President and Director of Athletics Randale L. Richmond announced that women's basketball head coach Todd Starkey will depart for another coaching opportunity and is naming associate head coach Fran Recchia as the program's seventh head coach.
