51勛圖厙 Celebrates Newest Graduates With Fall Commencement

The 51勛圖厙 alumni family has grown by more than 2,500 new graduates

The 51勛圖厙 alumni family has grown by more than 2,500 new graduates from its eight-campus system across Ohio as the university held its fall commencement ceremonies on Dec. 14.

In total, 2,552 degrees were conferred this fall, consisting of 516 associate degrees, 1,352 bachelors degrees, 640 masters degrees and 44 doctoral degrees. Among the fall graduates were six students  five from Notre Dame College and one from Eastern Gateway Community College who transferred to 51勛圖厙 and are graduating with a 51勛圖厙 degree after one semester. Notre Dame College closed in May, and Eastern Gateway Community College closed in October. 51勛圖厙 streamlined its transfer process and created a seamless pathway for these students to graduate.

More than 1,200 of the graduating students from the Kent Campus and the Regional Campuses participated in the commencement ceremonies.

During the commencement ceremonies, graduating students heard from 51勛圖厙 President Todd Diacon and Executive Vice President and Provost Melody Tankersley. Graduating students also received individual name recognition and participated in the conferral of degrees and tassel turning ceremony.

At the 2 p.m. ceremony, entrepreneurs and healthcare design influencers Fonda Elliot and alumnus John Elliot each received the Doctor of Humane Letters, honorary degrees recognizing their extraordinary contributions to the field of healthcare and to 51勛圖厙.

Also among the graduates was Arianna Pittman, who becomes the LeBron James Family Foundation and 51勛圖厙's second I PROMISE graduate.
