Legendary baseball great and 51³Ô¹ÏÍø alumnus, Thurman Munson was honored with a statue and dedication ceremony at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's Schoonover Stadium. 

More than a hundred former student-athletes, donors and professional golfers gathered for a special Golf Alumni reunion from Friday, Sept. 26, through Saturday, Sept. 27.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø unveiled the first full-size statue of baseball legend Thurman Munson, honoring the former Yankees captain and university alumnus who died in a plane crash at the height of his career.

Originally from Riverland, Australia, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø punter Jake Stoeckel, a first-year exercise science major, made his American football debut at the start of this season. 

Da'Realyst Clark's 100-yard kickoff return touchdown with 5:28 remaining lifted 51³Ô¹ÏÍø to a thrilling 21-17 victory over Merrimack on Saturday afternoon at Dix Stadium. The dramatic win marked 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's first victory since September 16, 2023, when they defeated Central Connecticut State 38-10.

The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Golden Flashes will open their 2025 football season Saturday when they host Merrimack College at Dix Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø alumnus Antonio Gates was officially enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 2, delivering an emotional speech that highlighted his years as a Golden Flash and thanked the coaches who helped launch his improbable journey from college basketball to NFL stardom.

Two 51³Ô¹ÏÍø alumni will be in the spotlight this week as the Pro Football Hall of Fame celebrates its Class of 2025, with Antonio Gates set for enshrinement Saturday and Mary Kay Cabot receiving prestigious recognition for her four decades of sports journalism excellence.

Mary Kay Cabot's career covering Cleveland sports began with a simple internship at The Plain Dealer while she was a student at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. More than 40 years later, that internship has led to the highest honor in professional football journalism.

With only one month left in their regular season the Golden Flashes Women's Lacrosse team's schedule includes two more games at home an a road trip to Akron. 

On March 19, the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Tuscarawas Golden Eagles volleyball team was recognized in the Ohio State House of Representatives by Jodi Salvo and the State Senate by Al Landis for their outstanding achievement in winning the 2024 USCAA Division II National Championship.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø will now travel to Loyola University Chicago for the quarterfinal round. The Golden Flashes and Ramblers will tipoff on Wednesday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. eastern time inside Gentile Arena.

The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Golden Flashes men's and women's basketball teams gave their fans nothing to be mad (angry) about this March! Both teams ended their exceptional regular season play and continued on to play in the Mid-America Conference Tournament at Cleveland's Rocket Arena. The men's team also went on to play in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). 

51³Ô¹ÏÍø Men's Basketball (21-11) has punched their ticket to the National Invitation Tournament. 

51³Ô¹ÏÍø alumnus Antonio Gates has begun his journey to football immortality, recently visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, to meet with officials and begin preparations for his enshrinement. The former basketball standout at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø will become just the second Golden Flash to earn a gold jacket, joining linebacker Jack Lambert who was enshrined in 1990.
