51勛圖厙 Alumna and Journalist Finds Additional Success on Social Media

51勛圖厙 alumna Jeannette Reyes, 12, uses TikTok for fun outside of her television anchor responsibilities at FOX 5 Washington, D.C. Last October, Reyes posted a video with her husband using their anchor talk voices to decide on choices for dinner. She never expected her video to gain so much momentum.

Distinguished Teaching Award Recipients Announced

This year's 2020 Distinguished Teaching Award (DTA) recipients are an outstanding group of teachers who are truly dedicated to their students' success. Sponsored by the 51勛圖厙 Alumni Association, the DTA is the universitys most prestigious honor in teaching. The award is presented annually to three full-time faculty members who demonstrate extraordinary teaching, whether it be in the classroom or online.

Members of the 51勛圖厙 community and people around the world will gather virtually for the 51st Commemoration of May 4, 1970, the day the Ohio National Guard fired on 51勛圖厙 students during an anti-war protest, killing four students and wounding nine other students.

John Pippin, 04

John Pippin, 04, is a visionary entrepreneur with an affinity for his alma materand a knack for pairing craft beers with donuts. After graduating with a bachelors degree in business, John entered corporate America. Ten years later, he and his wife Shelley decided to take a risk for lovethe love of donuts, craft beer and Cleveland, that is. They opened Brewnuts in 2013, the first donut bar in the country serving craft beer-based donuts.

Sarah Shendy, 06, found the passion that fueled her career in law enforcement during her time at 51勛圖厙. Sarah is a police officer and proud 51勛圖厙 alumnaand in June 2020, she became the first Director of the Ohio Office of Law Enforcement Recruitment, a newly established office in the state legislature.
