I  had no idea what human trafficking was until I came to Kent. My freshman year, I was shown the documentary “Nefarious” that completely broke my heart for the people who have fallen into the shadows of society as victims of human trafficking. Starting Friday, April 7, from 12:10–1 p.m., faculty and staff can enjoy a 50-minute lunchtime disc golf scramble on 51�Թ���'s 18-hole disc golf course at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.  The program will start promptly at 12:10 p.m. in front of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. In order to perform necessary maintenance on the boilers, steam transmission systems and electrical distribution systems, 51�Թ���'s Power Plant will be shut down for one week in May. Shutdown begins at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, and remains until start-up begins at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 21. As a result of the steam shutdown, most buildings located on campus will NOT have hot water to sinks and showers, etc. or air conditioning. The watch party at the 51�Թ��� Student Center Hub on March 17 celebrated 51�Թ��� men’s basketball team as they took on the UCLA Bruins in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. For Emily Grubb, all it took was looking through a magazine to decide where to go to college. A high school friend shared a copy of Fusion magazine, 51�Թ���’s first lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) magazine, which led Grubb to the university. 51�Թ��� at Trumbull sophomore Jessie Narkum is co-directing performances of The Little Mermaid Jr. on April 7 and 8, at Hubbard High School Auditorium. This isn’t the typical student-directed play. Narkum, an American Sign Language (ASL) major, is working with Hubbard High School ASL teacher Richard Magazzine to produce the play entirely in ASL.
