Theme Communities

Theme Communities are residential communities that bring together students who share a mutual interest or common experience to foster connection and a sense of belonging. Developed in partnership with campus departments, these communities provide a focused and unique living environment that encourages students to connect with peers, engage in shared activities, and explore interests.

Students who join a Theme Community will:

  • Build a strong sense of belonging through shared interests and experiences
  • Connect with peers, campus resources, and supportive staff
  • Develop skills in communication, teamwork, and self-advocacy
  • Explore ideas related to the community theme and expand their perspectives
  • Participate in community programs, events, and activities

Theme Communities available in Fall 2026

The Eastway Experience is a first-year residential community located in the Eastway Complex, the only on-campus area exclusively housing first-year students. This community connects students to campus resources, staff, and services that support a successful academic, social, and personal transition to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.

Education and Human Services

The Education and Human Services Theme Community is designed for students who are passionate about serving others and making a positive impact on the world. Whether pursuing careers as teachers, interpreters, case managers, counselors, or in related fields, students in this community come together around a shared commitment to support and service. By fostering a strong sense of belonging, the community provides opportunities to build meaningful connections and relationships that support students throughout their academic journey and beyond.
