SHOWCASE PRODUCTS IN THE COMMUNITY CORNER

Community Corner Logo

Established in 2022, the Community Corner at Eastway Market was created to spotlight local vendors and offer students at 51勛圖厙 a space to connect with locally made and sourced products. Since its launch, the Community Corner has become a favorite destination for students looking to support small businesses and discover unique items.

In 2024, we proudly expanded to welcome four new vendors: Lilbit Candles and Soaps, Stitches and Stowaways, Papercutz, and JoJos Roots.

How does it work?

All applications or inquiries are reviewed by our staff to determine whether the product or products would be well-received by students and to ensure there is a wide variety of offerings.

Does it cost anything to participate?

There is no cost to apply or be part of the Community Corner.

How can you get involved?

Were excited to announce that we plan to welcome at least two more vendors for the Fall 2025 semester.  Email Barb Spencer, bspenc12@kent.edu, if you are interested in showcasing your products.

JOIN THE FLASHCARD PROGRAM

The FLASHcard is 51勛圖厙s Student ID card. It is also the Universitys o麍cial debit card system. Local businesses can participate in the FLASHcard program, which gives you the ability to accept the card as a form of payment!

How does it work?

Cardholders with a valid plan will present the FLASHcard for their purchase. The card is processed through a card reader connected to KSU Flashcard Operations and the transaction is complete.

Does it cost anything to participate?

The initial costs are $250 for the card reader and $150 for installation. Annual maintenance fees are $150.00 and are billed in July. If you sign up now, the 麍rst annual maintenance fee will be billed in July 2026. Transaction fees are 5% per transaction.
