As ‘Funky Winkerbean’ Comes to an End, Comic Strip’s Creator Reflects on 50 Years
For a half-century, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø alumnus Tom Batiuk has penned the adventures of the students and staff of the fictional Westview High School, but now, "Funky Winkerbean" is coming to an end. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Today sat down with Batiuk to talk about his life's journey as a comic strip writer.

International Cook-off Provides New Culinary Journey for African Students
The entry of Team Rwanda and Team Nigeria into the annual cooking contest reflects 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s growing relations in sub-Saharan Africa, resulting in new groups of international students on campus. The Rwandan students are part of a group of 12 undergraduates sponsored by the Rwandan government who arrived at 51³Ô¹ÏÍø for the fall semester to pursue degrees.
