51³Ô¹ÏÍø Team Competes at American Mock Trial Association Competition
51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Mock Trial Team recently competed in the Regional Mock Trial Association Competition held at the Franklin County Common Pleas Courthouse in Columbus. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s team is made up of students from the Kent Campus, including sophomores, juniors and seniors, who are majoring in a variety of programs such as marketing, paralegal studies, criminology and justice.

When most people think of varsity or club-level sports programs on college campuses, names like Overwatch, Hearthstone, League of Legends and Rocket League are not normally mentioned. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Community Engaged Learning Initiative selected the Walls Community Garden for its Outstanding New Service Initiative award. The garden was selected for the award for understanding the needs of the community and making a positive impact on 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, Walls Elementary School, where the garden is located, and the city of Kent.

Jacob Thompson, a 51³Ô¹ÏÍø sophomore aeronautics and engineering major, was braving the harsh February winds during his regular commute back to the Kent Campus from his Coast Guard drill training in Port Clinton, Ohio, when tragedy struck a semi and Mr. Thompson sprang into action.

Aerospace Engineering Student Named Brooke Owens Fellow
Sydney Bihn is on track to be the first female graduate of 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s aerospace engineering program, and now, she has been selected as one of only 38 women to be a Brooke Owens Fellow.
