Tankersley, Hylton Discuss Ways Students Can Be Successful and Stay Connected During Remote Learning

51勛圖厙 Interim Senior Vice President and Provost Melody Tankersley, Ph.D., and Interim Vice President for Student Affairs Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., discussed ways that students can make the most of remote classes while still benefiting from student services during a recent appearance on Facebook Live. Both answered live questions and discussed such areas as summer class schedules, support for struggling students and staying healthy.

51勛圖厙 held its annual Veterans Day Commemoration on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Kent Student Center Kiva. This years guest speaker was Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta. A graduate of 51勛圖厙s Air Force ROTC detachment, VanNatta served as a media escort for joint information bureaus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm.

More than 1,000 volunteers from the 51勛圖厙 community welcomed and assisted new students as they moved into their residence halls on freshman move-in day, Sunday, Aug. 18. The annual community program, known as Movers and Groovers, is coordinated by Kent Interhall Council, the student government of the Kent Campus residence halls.
