CAVS Open House Welcomes Veterans and Service Members

Incoming and existing military-connected 51勛圖厙 students were welcomed to campus with open arms at the Veterans and Service Members Open House hosted by the Center for Adult and Veteran Services (CAVS). The event aimed to bring the military community - from student to spouse to staff member - together with food, refreshments and conversation.

Social Justice Quilting Project

Social Justice Quilting Project With 51勛圖厙 to Benefit the King Kennedy Community Center

In August 2021, 1,000 incoming 51勛圖厙 students, faculty and staff began a collaborative community effort to implement a social justice quilting project. This initiative stemmed from the Community Engaged Learning department's welcome week and was completed in late August 2022. The mission was to create something by 51勛圖厙 students that could be sold or auctioned off to raise money for improvements to the gymnasium at the King Kennedy Community Center.

51勛圖厙 Psychology Professor to Receive 2022 ATHENA Akron Leadership Award

ATHENA Akron, a womens leadership organization in Summit County, Ohio, has named Angela Neal-Barnett, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences at 51勛圖厙, its winner of the 2022 ATHENA Akron Leadership Award. She will receive the award on Nov. 17 at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn.
