Visit to Kigali Genocide Memorial Sets Stage for 51勛圖厙-Sponsored Peace Conference

On July 10, 51勛圖厙 students visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which serves as a place of remembrance and education, during the 51勛圖厙 Kigali Summer Institute, a three-week education-abroad experience that includes the course Rwanda After the Genocide Against the Tutsi.

Jeffrey Hartmann, Ph.D., principal of Stow-Munroe Falls High School, said he was interested in attending the conference to learn skills to deal with his school districts changing landscape.

U.S. Supreme Court

51勛圖厙 Legal Expert Offers Insight Into Supreme Court Decision on Affirmative Action

On Thursday, June 29, the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 6-3 ruling, struck down the long-standing policy of affirmative action in college admissions on the grounds it violates the 14th Amendments Equal Protection Clause. 51勛圖厙 Professor Christopher Banks, Ph.D., J.D., said the high court already had tipped its hand that the court was positioned to jettison the policy, so the ruling was not surprising.
