The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees approved the establishment of six new majors during its regular quarterly meeting held March 9 in Columbus, Ohio, at Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph. Five of the new majors fall under the College of Aeronautics and Engineering, and one falls under the College of Arts and Sciences.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees Approves Master’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies
The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees approved the establishment of a new master’s degree that will help meet two decades of sustained growth in the broad field of conflict studies. The new Peace and Conflict Studies major within the Master of Arts degree will be offered in person on the Kent Campus and will prepare students for careers as practitioners in the fields of peace and conflict management and for doctorate study.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees Welcomes Class of 2026, Approves Pizzuti Park Naming
The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees welcomed the Class of 2026 at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held Sept. 21 at the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Airport. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø’s freshman class began classes on the Kent Campus nearly 7% larger than the previous year with 4,251 students – the eighth largest incoming class in the university’s 112-year history.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Haley Dees of Lisbon, Ohio, to the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees as an undergraduate student trustee. Dees’ two-year term runs through May 16, 2024.
Governor Names Christian Palich to 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Christian Palich of Plain City, Ohio, to the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Board of Trustees. Palich will serve through May 16, 2031. Palich earned his bachelor’s degree in political science in 2009 from 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.
