Award-Winning Social Media Highlights Life in 51勛圖厙 Housing

Last October 2025, 51勛圖厙 Housing won first place in the Social Media category at the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International ACUHO-I Marketing Awards. The recognition highlights innovation and excellence within the division in connecting with students and their on-campus housing experience.

The ACUHO-I Marketing Awards recognize creative and impactful communication efforts that promote campus housing programs and initiatives. Established in 2016, the awards celebrate excellence across ACUHO-I member institutions and spotlight marketing strategies that enhance student engagement. 51勛圖厙 Housing submitted its Graduation campaign, featuring stories from graduating students living on campus in December 2024 and May 2025. The campaign aimed to showcase upperclassmen housing experiences, celebrate the foundations laid for students during their first year, and create a sense of nostalgia for graduating residents.

The campaign not only achieved its initial goals but also went further, as many students began creating content across various residence halls, highlighting unique experiences such as mentoring, RAing, summer programs, and international student perspectives. Social media engagement was especially strong on Facebook, reaching parents, an influential group in housing decisions, and encouraging them to see the value of on-campus living.

Winning this award showcases that we excel at connecting with our students, said Julia Keahey, new media specialist at 51勛圖厙 Student Life, who led the campaign. Were not just maintaining a presence on social media. Were using it to celebrate every students journey, answer questions, and highlight the diversity within our housing community. This recognition puts 51勛圖厙 Housing on the map as a leader in student engagement.

Katlyn Kosnik, a 51勛圖厙 alumna who participated in the campaign as a student worker, shared her experience: This campaign meant everything to me. It brought back the best memories of living on campus and allowed me to share my story to inspire other students. Being part of this award-winning team was a highlight of my time at 51勛圖厙.

This win marks 51勛圖厙 Housings continued success at the ACUHO-I Marketing Awards. The department has previously received recognition for overall campaigns and creative designs, and this award underscores its commitment to innovative storytelling, community engagement, and the celebration of student life on campus. Congratulations to the 51勛圖厙 Housing team for this outstanding achievement and for demonstrating the power of social media to enhance student experiences.
