The 51勛圖厙r, 51勛圖厙s independent student newspaper, is the best student newspaper in the nation in its class, according to the College Media Association. The organization announced the annual Pinnacle Award winners at the National College Media Convention, held Oct. 25-29 in Dallas, Texas. Julia Hazel, 51勛圖厙 junior communications major, won the prize for personal pitch during LaunchNET 51勛圖厙's elevator pitch competition.

Kent State University students recently used University Library elevators to compete in the fifth annual LaunchNET Elevator Pitch event. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the official opening of the Seasoned Cafe on the Salem Campus.
