University policy regarding consensual relationships and other relationship-based conflicts of interest

  1. Policy statement. This policy concerns consensual relationships between members of the university community also engaged in a pedagogical or other relationship where there exists a power differential (i.e. unequal authoritative, societal, or social power) between the individuals as provided herein. It is the policy of Kent state university that consensual relationships between faculty and students in a teaching, evaluation, or advising relationship constitutes a potential for a conflict of interest.

51³Ô¹ÏÍø is again showing its commitment to sustainability with its new climate change grove that also offers opportunities for research. The tree grove, located behind the Student Recreation and Wellness Center on the Kent Campus, was created through a partnership between University Facilities Management and the Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences. The trees were planted by students, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø alumni and other volunteers during the university’s annual Alumni Day of Service.
