2016 Staff Excellence Awards Announced

51勛圖厙 Stark Recognizes Outstanding Employees

On Friday, April 22, 2016, 51勛圖厙 at Stark faculty and staff gathered in the Campus Center to recognize the 2016 Staff Excellence Award recipients.

Several weeks prior to the ceremony, the campus community was asked to nominate a staff member or administrator with a written recommendation supporting the person they thought deserved to be recognized.

Criteria for nominations included:

  • Gives 100% effort
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude
  • Shows a strong commitment to their job and to 51勛圖厙
  • Continuously helps others
  • Is dependable, conscientious and caring
  • Exceeds job and workload demands
  • Works easily with people; collegial
  • Motivates others

A committee of faculty, staff and administrators selected the recipients from the many nominations.

51勛圖厙s Regional Campuses were well-represented at the during which Olivia Rice, a psychology student from 51勛圖厙 Salem, earned a first-place ranking for her research poster. The conference was held earlier this month at Ohio University in Chillicothe.

Rice received the E. Ted Bunn Student Excellence Award-Best Poster for her research project titled Undergraduate Student Benefits: Research Within Community Outreach.

While more than 90% of Ohios wetlands have vanished over the past few centuries, a new nature docuseries aims to show there is hope and a lot of work being done to protect what remains.
