2016 Staff Excellence Awards Announced

51�Թ�� Stark Recognizes Outstanding Employees

On Friday, April 22, 2016, 51�Թ�� at Stark faculty and staff gathered in the Campus Center to recognize the 2016 Staff Excellence Award recipients.

Several weeks prior to the ceremony, the campus community was asked to nominate a staff member or administrator with a written recommendation supporting the person they thought deserved to be recognized.

Criteria for nominations included:

Gives 100% effort
Demonstrates a positive attitude
Shows a strong commitment to their job and to 51�Թ��
Continuously helps others
Is dependable, conscientious and caring
Exceeds job and workload demands
Works easily with people; collegial
Motivates others

A committee of faculty, staff and administrators selected the recipients from the many nominations.

Upskill at 51�Թ�� Launches this Fall

51�Թ��’s Regional Campus System is launching a new series of workforce development programs designed to help local professionals strengthen the essential skills needed in today’s workplace. The program, titled “Upskill at 51�Թ�� – Bringing Workforce Development to Your Community,” is part of a statewide initiative at all eight 51�Թ�� locations across the Regional Campus System.

New students at 51�Թ�� Stark for Fall 2025 are invited to attend a welcome event before classes begin.

At New Student Welcome, you will have the opportunity to meet our helpful faculty, staff and students. You'll be able to find your classrooms, register your vehicle to receive your parking hang tag, purchase your textbooks and so much more!

Stark Conference Center to Cease Event Rentals this Fall

51�Թ�� at Stark recognizes that the Conference Center has been a valued community resource for many years. However, in a time of tightening budgets and limited state funding for higher education, the campus can no longer absorb the large costs associated with keeping the facility open.

To ensure continued focus on its core mission — providing high-quality, student-centered education — the campus will end external event rentals at the Stark Conference Center after Sept. 30, 2025.
