Lou Holtz, ’59, one of the most successful college football coaches of all time, proudly received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Donald Trump in December. Holtz is the only coach in the history of collegiate football who took six different teams to a bowl game, won five bowl games with different teams and had four college teams ranked in the final Top 20 poll. The event was also an unofficial kickoff to an impactful partnership. The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Police Department was recently awarded national accreditation for the ninth time by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc. (CALEA) in the Law Enforcement program. The 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Police Department was first accredited in 1991. 51³Ô¹ÏÍø will implement a new administrative policy regarding painting the Rock, which is located on Hilltop Drive on the Kent Campus. The policy, which goes into effect Jan. 11, 2021, is one of the institutional responses to racially offensive language that was painted on the Rock in 2020 and aimed at African American students.
