51勛圖厙 Designers Dazzle in the 2025 Fashion Show

51勛圖厙 Fashion Show 2025 Wrapped a Week of Style, Innovation, and Celebration

KENT, OH The 51勛圖厙 School of Fashion concluded its 2025 Annual Fashion Show on April 26, wrapping up a dynamic Fashion Week that celebrated student creativity, industry collaboration, and the future of design. Held in the newly opened Crawford Hall, the three-night event featured 161 stunning looks from 41 student designers, each selected by a panel of industry experts.

The showcased garments spanned a wide range of categories, including evening wear, market-ready pieces, universal design, and more. The show served as the culmination of months of work from students, faculty, and industry collaborators. Beginning with fall semester collection reviews, students refined their work with guidance from the 20242025 designers-in-residenceJocelyn Allen-Fecik, Manel Garcia Espejo, and Michael Ward, co-founders of The Saltingas well as critics Phantashia Johnson of Lane Bryant and Heike Jarick of Heike-NY.

I am continually inspired by the talent and artistry our students bring to the runway, said Mourad Krifa, Ph.D., director of the 51勛圖厙 School of Fashion. The Annual Fashion Show is not just a showcase it's a celebration of their dedication, creativity and contribution to the future of fashion.

Led by senior co-producers Amelia Gardner and Brett Ashley Richter, the show brought together students from all areas of the program, including design, merchandising, modeling, public relations, and stage management. Faculty co-directors Joanne Arnett and Sue Yoder provided oversight and mentorship.

 

 

The Annual Fashion Show included several key events:

  • Opening Night Show on April 24 welcomed students for an exclusive preview.

  • Awards Night Show on April 25 was open to the public and followed by a ceremony and dessert reception. Awards were given in the following categories: Best in Show Award, Cafaro Foundation Fashion Design Award, Celebration Award, Construction Technique Award, Fashion Show Management Award, Innovation Award, Knitwear Award, Market Ready Award, Niche Market Award, Special Occasions Award, Students Choice Award, Sustainable Design Award, TechStyleLAB Award and Universal Design Award.

  • Hall of Fame Gala on April 26 honored industry icon Donald J Pliner, who was inducted into the 51勛圖厙 Fashion Hall of Fame Previous honorees include Oscar de la Renta, Kenneth Cole, and Dame Zandra Rhodes. Pliner also delivered an artist lecture on April 25 to students and guests.

The fashion show headlined 51勛圖厙's 2025 Fashion Week, which ran from April 21 to 26. The week featured a packed schedule of events, including:

  • The First Year Visuals Show

  • The Way We Wore style retrospective

  • A 51勛圖厙 Museum tour

  • A 3D Virtual Fashion Show

  • The Study Away Fashion Show

  • Behind the Scenes student showcases

  • Live fashion illustration sessions

  • The School of Fashion Scholarship Ceremony

Additionally, a Fashion Marketplace spread across campus gave students and guests the chance to shop and explore student-created products and designs.

51勛圖厙s School of Fashion continues to make its mark with this annual event that blends artistry, education, and professional growth. The 2025 Annual Fashion Show reaffirmed its role as a launchpad for the next generation of fashion leaders.
